Telugu Film Producers Council Thanks AP Government for Revival of Nandi Film Awards

The Telugu Film Producers Council has expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Sri K. Pawan Kalyan, Hon’ble Cinematography Minister Sri K. Durgesh, Hon’ble MLA and renowned film actor Sri Nandamuri Balakrishna, AP State Film, TV & Theatre Development Corporation Limited Chairman Sri P. Bharat Bhushan, and Managing Director Sri K.S. Viswanathan for reviving the prestigious Nandi Film Awards for the years 2017–2024.

The Council also expressed its sincere thanks for considering the request submitted to the Government of Andhra Pradesh through the AP FDC on 24.09.2026, and for agreeing to revive the Nandi Awards under three categories — Golden Nandi, Silver Nandi and Bronze Nandi.

The Council further thanked the Government for considering the revival of the prestigious N.T.R. National Film Award for the years 2017–2024.

Established in 1964, the Nandi Film Awards hold immense emotional and cultural significance for the Telugu film industry and the people of the Telugu states. The awards have been an important platform for recognising and encouraging the contributions of talented artists, technicians and other professionals in Telugu cinema.

The Telugu Film Producers Council stated that recognising and honouring artists and technicians through the Nandi Film Awards is a matter of great pride for the entire Telugu film fraternity. Such recognition not only encourages the film industry but also helps preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of Telugu cinema.

The Council therefore sincerely appeals to the Government of Andhra Pradesh and the coalition parties to continue the initiative and honour deserving artists, technicians and other professionals from the Telugu film industry through the prestigious Nandi Film Awards.

The Telugu Film Producers Council once again conveyed its heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Cinematography Minister, Sri Nandamuri Balakrishna, AP FDC Chairman and Managing Director for their support towards the revival of these prestigious awards.
