Varun Sandesh who impressed audiences with love boy roles has now came with a gripping thriller titled “Nindha.” The film directed by Rajesh Jagannadham released in theatres today. Here’s the detailed review.
Story:
Nindha story is all about young man’s pursuit to prove the innocence of a person whom court has already sentenced him to death on the case of young girl named Manju who was brutally murdered. Vivek (Varun Sandesh), an officer with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). How does Vivek unravel the case? How does he exonerate Balaraju? His quest leads him through a labyrinth of intrigue and danger. Every character in the story plays a pivotal role.
The plot thickens with the kidnapping of six suspects in the notorious Kandrakota Murder case by Vivek. As the execution date looms, Vivek races against time to uncover a sinister plot, revealing unsettling truths and ensuring justice is served.
Analysis:
“Nindha” attempts to capture the audience’s attention with a crime drama inspired by real-life events, set against the backdrop of Kandrakota in Andhra Pradesh. The film aims to highlight the dark reality that even with evidence-based judgments, innocent individuals can be wrongfully convicted. While the premise is intriguing, the execution falls short, leaving viewers with a sense of disappointment.
The director’s initial setup is engaging, yet as the story progresses, it sometimes feels overly prolonged. The protagonist’s decision to kidnap five key witnesses and interrogate them without revealing their identities, only to later confront them and debate their involvement in the crime, seems like an unnecessary complication. This sequence, especially the kidnapping episode, appears to be an exaggerated buildup.
The identity of the murderer remains a suspenseful enigma until the very end, with a final twist that defies audience expectations. The revelation scene is particularly thrilling. However, the primary flaw lies in the story’s pacing. Suspense thrillers are most effective when they maintain a steady momentum and keep viewers eagerly anticipating the next development. Unfortunately, the sluggish narration significantly detracts from this story’s potential.
Performances:
Despite the shortcomings, Varun Sandesh delivers a commendable performance. Tanikella Bharani adds weight to the film. Every character in this story is important. Especially Rajanna’s child artist Annie (annie actress) gave a mind-blowing performance. Along with her, Mime Madhu, Bhadram, Surya Kumar, Chhatrapati Shekhar, Siddharth Gollapudi, Q Madhu, Sriram Siddharth, Arun Dalai delivers solid performances.
Technical Team:
Cinematography by Ramiz Navneeth captures the rural settings in a realistic way. Santhu Omkar’s background music is commendable. The editing by Anil Kumar P lacks finesse, with unnecessary scenes dragging the film’s pace. Rajesh Jagannadham has ensured a visually grand and high-quality production.
Verdict:
A decent watch for the exciting thrills.
