Plot:
“Vettaiyan-The Hunter” story delves into the complex world of encounter specialists and the Human Rights Commission, raising questions about justice delivery. The film follows Kanyakumari SP Ajith (Rajinikanth), a seasoned encounter specialist, who believes in swift justice through unconventional means. Ajith’s methods clash with DGP Satyadev (Amitabh Bachchan), who advocates for a more measured approach. Their contrasting views on justice – “Justice Hurried is Justice Buried” vs. “Justice Delayed is Justice Delivered” – set the tone for a thrilling narrative.
When Ajith investigates the heinous rape and murder of teacher Saranya (Dushara Vijayan), he navigates a complex web of characters, each with their own agendas and secrets. These include, SP Harish Kumar (Kishore), ASP Roopa Kiran (Dushara Vijayan) How Patrick (Fahadh Faasil), Nazeema (Rohini), Thara (Manju Warrier) and NAT Academy Chairman Natraj (Rana) connected to the story forms the rest of the plot.
Performances:

Rajinikanth’s performance is entertaining, with memorable dialogue delivery, dance moves, and stunts. However, the character feels familiar, revisiting roles from his past. Amitabh Bachchan’s presence elevates the film, sparking nostalgia in his scenes with Rajinikanth.
The supporting cast delivers impressive performances with Fahadh Faasil brings humor and energy. Rana commands attention with his imposing presence. Manju Warrier shines in a song sequence.
