Vidya Balan is considered as one of the most talented actors in the country. But even this national award-winning actress had a traumatic phase of life when she was struggling to make her debut on the silver screen. In a recent interview with a leading Bollywood website, Vidya revealed how she faced casting couch incidents while she was struggling to make her career in films.
She said, “One day I remember I was in Chennai and this director came to meet me. I said let’s sit in the coffee shop and he kept insisting that he wants to talk to me and that we should go to the room. I left the door of my room open and he left within five minutes.” She also added that another producer body-shamed her and said that she would not be fit to do heroine roles.
“I didn’t like what I saw because I thought I was ugly. For the longest time I had not forgiven that man but today, thanks to that I realized that I have to love and accept myself the way I am,” she further added. After this traumatic phase, Balan made her Bollywood debut in 2005 with Parineeta and since then there is no looking back for her. Even her recent film Mission Mangal also became a success at the box office.
