I am happy that the court has protected a film from falling prey to conspiracies- Vijay Deverakonda
The court has issued orders restraining online ticketing platforms from allowing reviews and ratings for Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, starring Megastar Chiranjeevi. This move has effectively put a check on deliberate attempts by certain sections to malign the film. Reacting to this development, actor Vijay Deverakonda shared his thoughts through a social media post, stating that he feels both happy and saddened at the same time.
Vijay Deverakonda said he is glad that the court’s intervention has helped safeguard the hard work, financial investment, and dreams of a film’s team. However, he also expressed disappointment that people from within the industry and audience circles are deliberately trying to harm films. He remarked that it is painful to see such negative intentions directed toward cinema.
In his statement, Vijay Deverakonda said that the spirit of growing together and wishing well for one another seems to be fading. He noted that even a film starring a legendary actor like Chiranjeevi becoming vulnerable to such targeted negativity made the seriousness of the issue evident, which the court has rightly acknowledged. While the court order may not solve the entire problem, he believes it is an important first step toward protecting cinema.
He further mentioned that since the time of Dear Comrade, he has been aware of certain political agendas and conspiracies aimed at sabotaging his films. He added that for years, his concerns were not fully understood, but filmmakers who worked with him later realized how dangerous these organized attacks can be. Vijay shared that he has spent many sleepless nights thinking about who is behind these conspiracies, why films are being targeted, and how to protect cinema from such forces, not just for himself, but for the next generation of actors as well.
Concluding his statement, Vijay Deverakonda said it is reassuring that the court has recognized how harmful such organized groups can be to films. He expressed hope that all films releasing during Sankranthi, including Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, will achieve success and entertain audiences during the festive holidays.
