‘Yevam’ generates interest with its interesting character posters and trailer. The film features Chandini Chowdary, Vasishta Simha, Jai Bharat Raj and Ashu Reddy in key roles. Prakash Dantuluri has directed this film while Navadeep and Pavan Goparaju backed the project. The film hit the screens today, 14th June. Let’s see how the film turned out to be.
Story:
Sowmya (Chandini Chowdary) joins as PSI at the Vikarabad police station, and Abhiram (Jai Bharat Raj) is the SI. Even though many degrade her by saying why a girl takes up police as a profession, she stands by her decision. One day, a girl gets murdered, and Chandini connects it with another case and discovers that Yugandhar (Vasistha Simha) is trapping girls using the names of movie stars. Sowmya hatches a plan to catch Yugandhar, but he escapes hitting her with a car. Did Sowmya nabs Yugandhar ? How did Abhiram help her solve the case? How is Harika (Ashu Reddy) related to the story? Forms the rest of the ‘Yevam’.
Performances:
For the first time, Chandini Chowdary in a police role impresses. She showcases how a normal girl faces hardships when joins as a police officer but surprises with her stunts during the climax. She delivered a commendable performance in the role.
Vasishta Simha is apt as a villain and did a menacing act. Jai Bharat Raj also gives a decent performance. Ashu Reddy catches attention with her glamour in a negative role. Goparaju Ramana and other delivered adequate performances.

Analysis:
Director Prakash came up with a investigative thriller along with exploring the elements of women empowerment. Though the first half runs slow with Chandini joining police force and her scenes with Abhi. Introducing Vasishta as villain. But the interval twist raises the bar and mad ethe audience wait for the second half.
The second half is about to nab the killer. It was dealt in a decent manner. The investigative scenes which are meant to generate thriller could have been better. But, still the narrative is engaging enough to provide the audience a thrilling experience. It also showcases the hardships faced by a normal girl when joins the police force. Telangana Oggu Kath is neatly incorporated into the story. The climax is dealt well.
The cinematography is decent. Music and editing could have been better, as the film faces pacing issues. Production values are fine. On a whole, ‘Yevam’ despite shortcomings success in delivering a compelling thriller mainly due to the curiosity factor of how a normal girl who is a new police recruit catches the culprit.
