Starring Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya in the lead roles, Epic – First Semester is directed by debutant Aditya Hasan. The film is produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. The film is scheduled to release on September 11. As part of the promotions, the trailer was released on Friday.
The trailer begins with the line, “My name is Anand… sorry, sorry… Aditya. I want to become a director. There is some magic in cinema. I want to make a good film, our film,” and immediately grabs attention. The hero travelling abroad and the situations he encounters there are sure to connect strongly with the youth.
The scenes between the lead pair and their love track appear refreshing. The scene featuring Kalyan Shankar and his dialogue are also likely to strike a chord with young audiences.
The trailer takes an emotional turn when the hero’s mother asks, “Why aren’t you sending money to pay the loan EMI?” and he responds, “If you didn’t even pay my college fee when you gave birth to me, then why do I need you, Mom?”
The hero’s dialogue, “If we want to break up, should we really break up by insulting each other and blaming one another?” followed by the heroine’s words, hints at an emotional, feel-good love story. The hero asks, “Do you know when a relationship becomes epic?” The final dialogues of the trailer are also designed to appeal strongly to the youth.
The trailer launch event was attended by National Crush Rashmika Mandanna and successful director Shiva Nirvana as chief guests. Speaking on the occasion:
Rashmika Mandanna said:
“I liked the trailer of Epic. Anand is always thinking about cinema. He works hard only for cinema. I was told that the character of Kadali will be a great one. Vaishnavi will earn a lot of recognition with this film. When I look at Aditya, I feel proud. After 90s, the responsibility on him has increased.
Hesham’s music is always great. It is wonderful to see and meet Shivaji garu here. Epic is arriving on September 11, with premieres on September 10. I will watch the film along with the team. I wish Epic a tremendous success.”
Anand Deverakonda said:
“Thank you to everyone who came to the Epic trailer launch event. Special thanks to our sister-in-law Rashmika, who came here for us. I am fortunate to have a sister-in-law who has always supported me.
There is a reason why we titled the film Epic. There are many epic moments in our lives. When we are going through difficult times and our partner comes and holds us or kisses us on the forehead, that becomes an epic moment.
I believe everyone will like the trailer. New directors bring fresh ideas into the industry. Aditya observes everyone’s lives very closely. This film will feel like therapy for everyone. It is an emotional film. It will feel like we are watching ourselves on screen.

Vaishnavi Chaitanya said:

“Thanks to Aditya and Naga Vamsi garu for giving me a good role in Epic. All of this is a world created by Aditya. 90s was a miracle in my career. Aditya is excellent at narrating stories. All these stories have come from Aditya’s own life,” he said jokingly.
“I have decided that I want to do characters and films that remain in the audience’s memory. Along with the importance of my role, I also look at whether the story is good or not.
The film has much greater emotion than what has been shown in the trailer. This is not just a Gen Z film. Every generation will embrace this movie. It will connect even more strongly with youngsters studying abroad and their families.
Romance and breakups are part of the story. We did not write scenes merely with the intention of bringing audiences into theatres. The climax is very emotional.
Everyone should come to theatres on September 11. Chapter 2 will be on another level.”

“Everyone must have experienced a cultural shock after watching the Epic trailer. Even though I am coming from the world of 90s, there are some elements here that may feel shocking. This was not done merely for attraction. There is a lot of emotional depth in the film. Everyone will understand that after watching it.
