Duqluer Salmaan’s Kurup, one of the most-awaited films from the Malayalam film industry finally hit the theatres, and here’s the review.

Plot:

Sukumara Kurup (Dulquer Salmaan), who is an NRI, kills Chacko, a popular film representative. He does it to fake his own death and with the help of his relative Bhaskara Pillai (Shine Tom Chacko). The investigation is headed by DYSP Krishna Das (Indrajith Sukumaran) who is known to be very strict. Will this cop manage to find the truth and get hold of Kerala’s most wanted criminal is what you have to watch on the screen?

The film starts with a super long disclaimer and is set back in the 60s & 70s, and then to the 2000s. Sukumaran Kurup is a rebellious person and is not the one who can be satisfied with the ordinary. It is all about how a runaway army man becomes a well-paid expert, and later into a fugitive.

Performances:

Dulquer’s performance needs no introduction. It is known that he is an amazing performer and as usual, he has done an amazing. He is such an amazing fit into the shoes of Sukumara Kurup. He looks authentic as a con man and his costumes are rich and great.

Shobitha, the leading lady of the film is the perfect pair for Dulquer. Shine Tom, Indrajith, and other key actors have played their characters really well.

Engaging Narration

Production Design

Drawbacks:

Little Bit Slow Pace In Narration

Analysis:

Director Srinath Rajendran has done a great job. He told the story in such a way that it doesn’t look like you are glorifying a murder or supporting a conman. He shows the life of a criminal in a subtle way. The whole retro backdrop and story take you back to those days and down memory lane.

It is known that Dulquer is the producer of this film. He made sure the quality and content is rich enough. It has been released in five languages and is worthy enough to impress the audience.

The camera work is great and so is the BGM. The team has done a lot of promotions which have managed to create all the necessary hype for the film.

On the whole, the film is a must-watch this weekend as it is important to not miss a good thriller.

Rating: 3.5/5
Bottom line: A Conman Story One Shouldn’t Miss
