A car accident changes the life upside down of a newly married couple, Rishi(Sandeep)and Diya (Anya Singh). To the shock of their lives, when they see in the mirror they see Arjun (Vennela Kishore) and Madhavi (Poornima Bhagyaraj). The couple on their quest for the truth faces more challenges and mysteries coming their way. Why they were chosen and How did they got out? Whether They Got Out or not? Find answers in the movie.
Sundeep Kishan comes with a refreshing act after a brief gap. He gives a settled yet aggressive performance in tune with the character. There is a change in body language as well, which can be easily noticed. He has great ease in emotional scenes which was on display in the second half twice, firs when he visits his home and then in the climax. They are brilliantly executed and acted.
Anya Singh has a lovely presence, and it has been utilised well. She shares excellent chemistry with Sundeep, and it shows in the moments they are together. Individually too she has a few well-directed sequences.
Vennela Kishore is the third essential part of the narrative. He plays a vital role in taking the story forward without paying his usual comedian self. It is a comic role, no doubt, but there is a difference. If we say more that would be akin to spoiling the movie.
Murali Sharma and Posani Krishna Murali are given substantial roles that are necessary for entertainment as well and engaging the audience. They do a brilliant job, as usual. The rest of the cast too is adequate in the small but critical characters they are given.
Takes a routine path in the second half
There are usually two kinds of movies, one with a routine story and engaging screenplay and performances, and a unique concept and story drive the other. Ninu Veedani Needanu Nene is the later variety and delivers on the score thanks to expert and execution with clarity by director Carthick Raju.
Right from the start, the movie is engaging with a unique take on the regular ghost formula stories by Carthick Raju. One can’t guess what is going to happen next, and the twists are not easy to predict. It keeps the viewer on edge throughout the first half along with generating nonstop fun in the process. The interval bang will be a shocker for the audience.
The second half builds on the first and takes a new emotional turn. The mystery behind the mirror image is also neatly handled and put in the narrative. Overall, a delicate balance is achieved with a high reserved for the climax. It will surely leave people moist-eyed.
Ninu Veedani Needanu Nene is a clean and fresh entertainer within a new plot in the now routine ghost stories. Carthick Raju deserves praise for coming up with a winsome entertainer out of the formulaic fares.
SS Thaman elevates the proceedings with his terrific re-recording. He has become an expert and go-to guy in this space. The cinematography by PK Varma is excellent. The whole movie carries a slick and trendy look. The editing is crisp, and the entire credit goes to Praveen KL. The dialogues are hilarious and bring the house down.
And last but not the least, Sundeep Kishan also doubles up as the producer along with Daya Pannem and Viji Subrahmanian. He has done a great job with uncompromising production values for an unconventional subject. He has given it all, and the effort needs heartfelt appreciation.
Bottom-line: A Unique Horror Comedy Entertainer
