We all aware of the MeToo movement which has shaken up the Indian film industry last year. Many film actresses and technicians have shared their dark experiences with the male vultures in society. This has unraveled the unspoken side of the film industry. But actress Radhika Apte is quite angry on the way how the movement has progressed.
She says that the MeToo movement just came and went, a lot of things should’ve changed but didn’t change and a lot of issues have not come out. She added that the progress of this movement is very disappointing. Radhika Apte also stated that industry people should start talking about pay disparity.
Giving an example, the Kabali actress says that if there is a father and a mother role with equal importance in the film, the person who played the father gets more pay than the one who played the role of mother. She claims that there is no logic in that.
What Radhika feels brighter on the side is that a lot of female technicians are coming into the industry. She said that it is good to see a lot of female DOPs, directors, writers, producers, and editors, which was not the case a few years back.
