A few moments back the winner’s list of National Film Awards 2018 is released officially by the central government department officials. For the first time, the Telugu film industry has won seven National Awards in a different category and it’s a proud moment for all the members of the Tollywood fraternity.
Usually, Hindi Indian movies or Bengali films used to grab the major section of National film awards and South Indian film industry is limited to only a few awards. But things have changed for the 66th National Film Awards and Tollywood roared this time with seven awards to its credit.
Mahanati movie has grabbed three awards starting with best film Telugu, best actress Keerthy Suresh and the third award in best costume category. Prashanth Varma directed “Awe” have got two awards i.e best makeup and best VFX award category. Then Ram Charan-Sukumar “Rangasthalam” is awarded for best sound mixing. Then finally Rahul Ravindran “ChiLaSow” won the National award for best original screenplay category.
For the first time, Telugu film industry is apricated and awarded for categories of makeup, VFX, costumes, original screenplay and this show the progress, recognition, high impact that Tollywood is making in the Indian film industry.
